I am happy to say that I will be in the Trone Outdoor Special 39 car in 2010 racing season starting in Florida. John Trone and I met and after a trying first year we are ready to focus our efforts on the 2010 season. Kevin Frey will also be returning as Crew Chief. We have all been working closely and trying not to loose the chemistry we were building before I got hurt. …continue the action!

Hey, I’m glad to be able to take a minute and give everyone an update on how I’m doing. Since the last post, I was to see Dr. Trammell, neurosurgeon from Indianapolis, on September 4th to look at my x-rays and advise me on my condition. Thanks to the Workmen family, owners of Kinard Trucking, for the use of their airplane that flew me and my brother, J. D. out to Indy and back. After about 4 1/2 hours, we met with the Doctor and his assistant, got some lunch and took an MRI scan. The diagnosis was very simple – “do what I tell you and you’ll be as good as new in 3 months”. The Doctor also indicated that my previous injuries would not be a danger of causing me any additional problems in the future. Those of you that are familiar with Dr. Trammell know that he has done extensive research and testing with Indy cars, Formula 1 and NASCAR, as a result, we spoke about safety. …continue the action!

Doug is glad to be home where he can rest and begin recovering in the comfort of his own home. This will also give him the ability to keep his property management business going from his phone and computer and be close to his family. Plans are all set for Doug and his brother to fly to Indy to see Dr. Trammell on Friday. One change is that Pete Postupack had a last minute scheduling conflict so Brian Workman, owner of Kinard Trucking offered their company plane to fly Doug to see the specialist. Doug once again expressed his gratitude to everyone that has offered to help in various ways. …continue the action!

Good News! Doug is heading home today. Kelly was able to stay with Doug Tuesday night and bring him home Wednesday after noon. On Tuesday Doug was experiencing some pain from his muscles tightening up from being laid up. Once Kelly arrived at the Hospital she forced the Doctor to develop a plan to alleviate Doug’s pain. By late Tuesday evening Doug was feeling much better and made plans to return home on Wednesday. …continue the action!

Doug Esh, driver of the #39 Trone Outdoor Motorsports 410 Sprint car was injured during the feature event on Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway, PA. Doug had worked his way up to 3rd place when his car hooked a rut and sent the car very high in the air. After landing on all four wheels the car came to a rest. As a result, Doug has sustained multiple fractures to his L5 vertebrae. Doug is still resting comfortably at the York Hospital as of Tuesday evening with plans to return home on Wednesday. …continue the action!
